Deep Slumber

Sometimes we just need a big jolt to wake us up from our deep slumber...

Have you had that feeling where your life suddenly stopped? That nothing can literally make you move and you're left staring into space with nothing registering in your head? Or there's the sound of silence throbbing in your ears waiting to be heard more?

I think at some point in our lives we get to experience that long pause. Loooonnng paauuussseeeee...

We don't know what to do next and we just end up staring out. It's fun, mind you. For a time...

For a time we get to do the things that we do in a sleep-walk state. We make decisions that are not well thought of and we become really impulsive with almost everything that we get caught in the middle.

It's hard to pick yourself up from that deep slumber. Especially when your consciousness is all over the place but when you start to find yourself again the arms of the clock start to wind smoothly and life goes on.

Anyway it's a bit general but I guess what I'm saying is that we need to wake ourselves up fully everyday to make good choices for ourselves.

We wake in the morning maybe looking forward for many things or sometimes nothing at all but in times of struggle we need to relearn how to totally get out of bed. Get out of that rut and just decide consciously all over again.

It's a cycle that we forget to do and we always feel like we are the victims in this crazy Universe. That we are like stringed puppets manipulated fully by that power and there's nothing we can do about it.

We need to wake up from this illusion.

I have come to learn these past few days that nothing, and absolutely no one can ruin you but yourself and in the same way nothing, and absolutely no one can fix you but only you. It is probably our nature to either be the most creative or destructive individuals in this gigantic Universe and it's really amazing how this power is left unnoticed.

We give everything outside us so much power that we are always left powerless inside. What's worse is the ones that we give power to are the negative thoughts that we garner in our heads, our failures, our mistakes, our missed chances, these are the things that we emphasize more inside our heads.I don't know why. It festers and boils slowly then we get sick in our minds and it manifests in our bodies.

We can't function, we can't sleep, we can't eat or we overeat, and we can't think properly. The vicious cycle eats us up and we are left empty inside out. Our heads are stuck in the mud so bad that we really need a good pull to get us out. A good pull might be from a friend who's willing to really listen, a really comforting hug, a good stretch, a good run or an exercise maybe, or an ice cold beer even. Then we may be able to reboot our systems all over again and accept that life moves forward.

Rebooting our systems would ultimately be hard if we do not identify the root cause of our problems---why we got stuck in the first place. I guess the first step that we must do is to accept the situation for what it is. We need to accept that we got stuck because we chose to be stuck for a moment or for a long time in there. Then we consciously think where this is really coming from and move on with our lives.

Yes, we move on. Life goes on. And as we go along wouldn't it be better if we choose to think and rethink more of the positive choices we've made for ourselves than the negative ones?

Then our lives would probably start to pick up again.

I hope you get to pick up yours the soonest time and make absolutely the best choices for yourself again. Embrace the possibility of winning as well as defeat. Because it's really true that in life you win some and you lose some and in that process, you get to love yourself and accept yourself more for all your wins and losses.

It's never too late to dream, be inspired, and be passionate all over again. Taste the sweetness of life and be grateful for the big things especially the little ones.

Break a leg!
